KIKIT Pathways to Recovery

Drug & Alcohol Support Service

Vision & Priorities

Birmingham is ethnically diverse with an ever changing cultural influence. With such a variety of different cultures, comes a range of issues that are hidden in our communities.

PWR’s aim is to bridge the gap between existing services and the community, integrating services to meet the needs of BAME communities.

Our services include drug and alcohol misuse advice, family mediation, service user group, alcohol recovery programme, training and awareness, peer support, advocacy, volunteering opportunities, and creating links into education and employment services. In addition, we will provide advice and support on housing, general health and well being, dealing with abuse, safeguarding, managing long term health conditions and specific BAME health issues.

PWR fully support the Public Health Agenda. Our projects will empower the BAME and wider community to raise their issues, identify solutions and improve health and well-being.

Through consultation with Service Users, community and local research, PWR has identified the following key areas. Our Service User Group members (known as the Birmingham BAME Recovery Forum) is instrumental in assisting PWR in delivering these projects. Together, PWR aims to improve the lives of the local community and in turn improve opportunities, awareness and deprivation as a result.
